Tesla company is approaching the next-level driving technologies. alowing vehicles to move without human interference whatsoever, i.e. without the driver. There's a chance that some of the respective upgrades may be used aready by the end of the year, the company's CEO Elon Musk says.
“I’m extremely confident that level 5 or essentially complete autonomy will happen and I think will happen very quickly,” Musk said in remarks made via a video message at the opening of Shanghai’s annual World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC). “I remain confident that we will have the basic functionality for level 5 autonomy complete this year”, Reuters wrote, quoting the official.
And yet, it's too soon to expect such vehicles to appear among the public by late 2020. The Tesla insiders claim it will still take some time to deploy the technology and for the publicity to show enough trust in it.
According to Reuters, "Tesla has become the highest-valued automaker as its shares surged to record highs and its market capitalisation overtook that of former front-runner Toyota Motors Corp".
