No one was injured in the explosion, partly due to the quick action of a company employee. It is known that when processing mail, a thick envelope made a "hissing noise." Then the employee decided to throw out the letter and soon there was an explosion.

Half an hour after the explosion in Amsterdam, an explosion was also heard at a mail sorting company in Kirkrad, Limburg. All employees of the postal company were evacuated, there were no victims of the terrorist attack. Local law enforcement officials regard the incident as a terrorist attack.
