14 people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the terrorist attack in Vienna, some of them are reported to be from Russia. This was announced by Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer, Deutsche Welle reports.
The age of detainees is from 18 to 28 years. All of them are of migrant origin, but not all of them have Austrian citizenship. According to Viennese Police Chief Gerhard Purstl, some have dual citizenship, including those from the Russian Federation, Turkey, Bangladesh, and northern Macedonia.
As we reported earlier, on November 2, in the Austrian capital Vienna, at Seitenstettengasse, in downtown, about 08:00 p.m., at local time, the attack on the synagogue was committed – the explosion occurred and the shooting between the criminals and police officers took place.
In total, 22 people suffered as a result of the attack, including a police officer.
Law enforcers continue searching for other criminals. Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz considered the attack as a terrorist act.
