Earlier Iran threatened to restore uranium enrichment if Europe supports US sanctions. This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in an interview for Der Spiegel.
As Zarif said, the EU has not clearly reacted to the US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement.
"Europeans and other signatories must act to compensate for the consequences of US sanctions," he said and stressed that, first of all, this applies to the banking system and the oil business.
In case of a violation of the "balance", Iran considers the option of a full break of the nuclear agreement concluded in 2015, or its partial application, one of the options of which is a return to enrichment of uranium.
Zarif also urged the EU countries to fine European companies that stop their business in Iran because of US sanctions.
"Europeans must decide whether they are ready to confirm their words with actions," he said.
At the moment, he said, the situation looks as if Europe is "subordinate to the American dictate."
We recall, May 8, US President Donald Trump said that America withdraws from the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program and restores sanctions against Iran. Sanctions will be renewed gradually, and this process will take from three to six months.
Later it became known that the US imposed additional sanctions against Iran, and also threatened to introduce them against European companies that deal with it.
