Tennis: Svitolina lost to Mladenovic in WTA China tournament quarter finals

The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina played her quarter-final match of the WTA tournament in Zhengzhou, China.

Just 5 hours after her first match, Svitolina again went to court. French tennis player Kristina Mladenovic took advantage of her physics, although Svitolina did everything to avoid defeat. Tennis players fought for every point and Mladenovic won the first set in this fight. Svitolina was already able to complete the second set with her victory. But on the third one was too exhausted, although in the end she tried to catch up with her rival.

Earlier the world's No.3 in tennis Elina Svitolina proved victorious in the Round of the Last 16 of the WTA tournament in Zhengzhou.

The Ukrainian stood against Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan. The Kazakh athlete won the first set and then lost the second. The things went into a tie break, where Ukrainian made a tremendous comeback from 0-4. Eventually, Svitolina was the one to triumph (6:3, 1:6, 6:7).

Previously, the Ukrainian stood against Serena Williams in the US Open semifinals. It was their sixth meeting. The first set proved tough for the American, but Williams still won it (6:3). Svitolina fought back in the second but eventually gave in to the tougher and more experienced opponent (6:1).
