Temporary investigation committee on 112 Ukraine TV Channel, NewsOne TV Channel and Zik TV Channel are instruments of political pressure on certain media. The head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Serhiy Tomylenko stated this on 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

"Today, my position and position of our international partners are next: we state that there is a selective political concentration and attention on certain Ukrainian media channels, in particular, we are talking about 112 Ukraine TV Channel, about NewsOne TV Channel and Zik TV Channel, which are also mentioned. We are talking about conflicting decisions of the media regulator, which is actually bringing these channels closer to their suppression today with such decisions, as well as the Temporary investigation committee that is a certain instrument of political pressure on specific media already," Tomylenko said.

"And, first of all, we are waiting for effective efforts from the parliament to protect journalists. We have systemic impunity, we need to get precedents for protecting journalists from attacks, from radicals' attacks, and so on. So we would like politicians to focus their attention first and foremost on how they can make the profession of journalists and the media safe, rather than complementing the arsenal of various disturbing news by various investigative commitees," the head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine added.

As we reported earlier, MP from the Servant of the People Olga Vasylevska-Smaglyuk who was the initiator of creating the temporary investigation committee became a figurant of the corruption scandal.

She did not take bribe but she received the offers as 112 Ukraine reported, citing the polygraphologist as the lawmaker passed the polygraph test.

The expert noted that Smaglyuk is concealing some information.

“She did not take money for the solution of some issues. The only thing is that she conceals information that similar, and it is spotted, offers took place. Possibly, not directly to her because in such case the reaction has more associative nature but our person under the test is aware of the presence of similar offers,” the polygraphologist said.
