Teenager wounded during training at firing range in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region

A 15-year-old teenager was wounded in the leg during the training shooting at the firing range in Dnipropetrovsk region. The criminal proceeding is opened, as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing the State Investigation Bureau (SIB).

Preliminary, on June 24, a boy, born in 2004, was shot in his leg during the training shooting from the automatic weapon by cadets of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.

The SIB investigators came to the site. The circumstances of the case are established.

“At the moment, a boy had surgery at Dnipropetrovsk regional children’s hospital. A bullet was taken out of his right hip. The bones are not harmed. There is no threat to his life,” the message said.

The pretrial investigation was begun due to the negligence of the officials of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs during the organization of the training shooting.

They may face the restriction of liberty for up to three years with the ban to occupy particular posts for up to three years.

Earlier, the explosion took place at Rivne general military firing range, and a 19-year-old soldier was wounded as a result of the incident.
