Teachers and students in Ukrainian schools will buy medical masks at their own expense because the authorities have not allocated money for the purchase of personal protective equipment. MP from the ‘European Solidarity’ faction Iryna Gerashchenko stated this, Pryamyi TV channel reported.
"I want to remind you that in the spring the mono-majority sent $ 2,5 billion to fight Covid. Tomorrow, on September 1, school starts, and although $182,000 was taken from the educational sector to fight the coronavirus, now these funds are necessary for children and teachers to be provided with masks. Not a penny was allocated. 450,000 teachers for their salaries, but they do not receive 4,000 dollars, as some promised, they will buy masks and antiseptics," Gerashchenko said.
As we reported before, medical examination before the school year is mandatory only for first graders, as Deputy Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko stated during a briefing.
Lyashko noted that all other children are examined once a year.
"The child must undergo a medical examination once a year. He is tied, plus or minus two weeks, to his birthday. Responsibility for the passage rests with the parents, who can contact the family doctor and set the time for the examination," the deputy minister said.
