Taking hostages in Odesa: Attacker demanded million dollars, helicopter

The attacker, who took hostage employees of a financial institution in Odesa, demanded a million dollars and a helicopter. This was reported by the 112 Ukraine correspondent from the scene.

“Today, at around 11 am, law enforcement officers received a message that a man entered the institution that issues fast loans, closed the door and took two employees of the institution as hostages. When the police arrived at the scene, he demanded one million dollars for the release of women and a helicopter. The negotiations lasted for more than three hours, during which the man changed his demands. At a certain stage, he agreed to release one of the women for 1 million USD," the correspondent noted.

Later the police decided to storm the building - they managed to free the hostages. Women are not injured, got only abrasions. Now they are provided with medical care.

"According to the police, the man is not a local resident, he came from one of the districts of the region. He was not intoxicated," the correspondent added.

It is reported that now the investigation continues.

We recall that in Odesa a man took two employees of a financial institution hostage. The police began a special operation. During it, the attacker was detained.
