The situation on Tajik-Kyrgyz border has worsened again. The amassment of military vehicles and manpower is observed in the area, AKIpress reported, citing the Border Guard of the State Committee of the National Security of Kyrgyzstan.
The Kyrgyz authority claimed that the Tajik side broke the previously made agreements of inter-government delegations; according to the message, Tajk fighters proceeded into the Kyrgyz territory by 1,000 meters.
The Kyrgyz side claimed that the Tajik military build up a force on the border.
It all began with a quarrel at a joint reservoir between residents of the two villages, which escalated into a clash with military intervention and the withdrawal of tanks to the border on April 17. The subject of the quarrel was the Main water distribution point. It is located near the source of the canals that replenish the Tortkul reservoir in Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyz began repairs at the water distribution point, but residents of the Tajik village of Khoja Alo protested and demanded the presence of their representatives at the repairs. There was a battle of words, as a result of which the work was stopped.
