Sweden introduces digital certificate for coronavirus vaccinees. It is designed to attend public gatherings and indoors events with more than 100 people, AP News reports.

This move follows similar decisions from other EU countries amid a recent rise in Covid-19 cases. According to Minister of Social Affairs Lena Hallengren, the certificate will be accepted from December 1.

"This is tough news to give. We all want the pandemic to be over," she added.

According to Minister of Culture Amanda Lind, it is not necessary to present a certificate of vaccination. However, those who cannot present it will have to adhere to certain restrictions. She added that event organizers should decide what the restrictions should be. The pass will not be valid in restaurants yet.

It is noted that 15,107 deaths were recorded in the country. According to the official data, 85.3% of the population aged 16 and older were vaccinated for the first time, and 81.7% received a full course of vaccination.

As it was reported on November 17, Minister of Defence of Sweden Peter Hultqvist agreed to send Swedish troops to Ukraine for a training mission led by the European Union.
