The Defense Ministers of Sweden Peter Hultqist and Denmark Claus Hjort Frederiksen stand for the strengthening of the cooperation between two countries within the fight against Russian propaganda as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
‘The actions of Russia give rise to a concern in some cases. But the so-called hybrid war also exists and it includes the different kinds of the cyber-attacks, information deception and fake news that create the unrest in the society’, the joint article of the Defense Ministers that was published at the Sweden press and the website of the Sweden Government stated this.
‘When we cannot distinctly distinguish the fake news and information deception from the truth and reality then we begin to feel ever more uncertainly’, the article stated.
‘Our countries were affected by the information deception attempts in different forms and that is why we want to protect our society better in this sphere. We will strengthen the cooperation in this sphere’, the author of the article noted.
Moreover, the Defense Ministers expressed the solicitude on the security issue in the Baltic Region.
‘The security issue gets worse in the close vicinity to our territory and the cooperation in the defense sphere is also under consideration. We assured that the cooperation between our countries will further the maintenance of the stability and freedom of the Baltic Region’, the article said.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin claimed about the necessity to strengthen the fight against the Russian propaganda in the EU countries and the Eastern Partnership countries.
