Suspect in Donbas volunteer Okueva's murder arrested for two months

Kyiv's Svyatoshynsky district court has arrested Ihor Redkin for two months. The man is the suspect in the murder of Amina Okueva, the Ukrainian combat volunteer and medic. UNN news agency correspondent reported that on January 14.

The judge granted the motion of the prosecution team, as it requested that Redkin stays in custody until March 11, 2020.

Amina Okuyeva was killed in a gunfire attack in Kyiv region in October 2017. She and her husband Adam Osmaev were in the car on the railroad junction, when the attackers opened fire from an assault rifle. The woman sustained a deadly head wound; Osmaev got his leg hit injured but survived the attack.

The National Police of Ukraine opened a criminal investigation under the "intentional murder" article of the Criminal Code.

A Muslim of Ukrainian origin, Okueva was buried under Muslim traditions; her burial site is in Dnipro city. 

On January 12, Ukraine's Interior Minister Arsen Avakov reported that the suspect in Okueva's murder was detained.
