The Kyiv prosecutor's office announced suspicion to the 48-year-old resident of the Svyatoshin district of capital on the fact of the deliberate murder of policeman Dmytro Hlushak. This is reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office in Facebook.
"It is established that at the end of June an attacker, who had already been repeatedly tried for serious mercenary crimes, found an advertisement about the sale of the gold chain through the Internet and agreed to meet," the prosecutor's office said.
During the meeting, sitting in the car in the back seat, the detainee shot twice at Hlushak and robbed him, taking the chain and mobile phone.
"The evidence collected during the pre-trial investigation justifiably confirm the involvement of the detainee in the crime, and also testify to the thorough preparation for it," the prosecutor's office said.
The detainee was charged with suspicion for Section 6, Part 2, Art. 115 (deliberate causing death to another person for mercenary motives) and Part 4 of Art. 187 (assault for the purpose of taking possession of another's property, combined with violence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Speaker of the prosecutor's office Nadiya Maksymets on the air of "112 Ukraine" reported that the Shevchenkivsky district court today chosd a preventive measure in the form of custody to the detainee.
According to her, the detainee faces up to 15 years of imprisonment, or life sentence.
Earlier we reported that suspect in the murder of Dmytro Hlushak, the police officer is detained. Sources in law enforcement agencies confirmed the information to 112 Ukraine, Interfax Ukraine agency, and TSN.
According to the preliminary information, the suspect is a previously convicted. Detailed information is not disclosed yet.
Reportedly, unknown shot dead the man on Shchusieva St, in Shevchenkovsky district, in Kyiv on July 5. Later, a passerby found the body in the car and called the police. Arrived law enforcement officers ascertained that Dmytro Hlushak has been working in law-enforcement bodies since 1995.
