Ali Mahmud Mohammed Hassan, one of the 19 suspects in recent attacks on Christian shrines in Egypt, was detained by the local police in his home province of Qena. The Daily Star reported that on Wednesday, April 19.
Names of Hassan and another 18 suspects were made public after the Palm Sunday blasts at Christian churches in Tanta and Alexandria. The bomb explosions that occurred on April 9 killed at least 45 people.
The Egyptian law enforcers increased the size of the bounty (roughly USD 27,000) for any information leading to the other suspects’ arrest.
