Ukrzaliznytsia, the company that serves as the national operator of Ukrainian railways claims that suburban trains will be launched as the first stage of lifting the quarantine. An informed source in the transport sector told that to Interfax-Ukraine news agency on May 5.
The next stage could be resuming the work of Intercity and Intercity + trains. And then, eventually, the full-fledged railway connection system in Ukraine would get back to the normal working mode, the source said.
At that, the launch of international transportations will depend on certain decisions, including those made by the neighboring countries that Ukraine enjoys the connection with. So far, there is no data on any possible restrictions on the number of passengers in Ukrzalinzytsia trains after the quarantine.
As is known, the Cabinet of Ministers decided that the quarantine in Ukraine will be extended until May 22; however, the respective restrictions will be gradually weakened since May 11.
The railway connection in Ukraine has been postponed since mid-March.
