Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science

Ukrainian students seem to be showing poorer English than they did before. Lilia Hrynevych, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, said so as quoted by UNN news agency.

According to her, many students showed better skills while entering bachelor programs than the one they showed entering master programs.

Hrynevych assumes it is because many education facilities pay too little attention to teaching foreign languages.

The Ministry intends to implement the external independent test to check the English skills of those applying for university master programs. The plan is to be implemented by 2023. As the bachelor enters the master degree program, he/she will be obliged to pass the English test for the B2 level (Upper-Intermediate).
