A strong earthquake of 5.0 magnitude occurred in Greece, as the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reports.

The earthquake was recorded at 4:52 Kyiv time. The epicenter of tremors was located 6 kilometers from the village of Valsamata. The source lies at a depth of 5 kilometers.

There is no information about possible victims and destruction.

As we reported, an earthquake occurred not far from the town of Bushehr, on the south coast of Iran, in the Persian Gulf. The 5.1-point strong shock occurred at 5.23 a.m. Friday, December 27.

The shake of such strength can cause significant damage to infrastructure. 

Earlier it was reported, that in Albania, 9 people were arrested on suspicion of murder and abuse of power after the collapse of buildings during the earthquake in November.

Two of those arrested on murder charges owned illegally built hotels that collapsed in the city of Durres, in one of the most affected areas.
