The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Jens Stoltenberg quoted Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko once again speaking from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada.
112 Ukraine TV channel broadcasted the session.
“When I had the privilege of speaking to the Rada two years ago, I quoted Taras Shevchenko, and I would like to quote him again. He wrote, ‘It's terrible to lie in chains, to rot in dungeon deep, but it's still worse, when you are free to sleep and sleep and sleep.”
As it was reported earlier, Stoltenberg arrived to Ukraine on October 30. NATO Secretary-General is scheduled to hold a meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on October 31 and will deliver an address at the Verkhovna Rada.
Jens Stoltenberg and the NATO Permanent Representatives will also meet the Chairman of the Rada, Mr. Dmytro Razumkov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Vadym Prystaiko and the Minister of Defence, Mr. Andriy Zahorodniuk.
