Ukraine has not yet won the war with Covid-19, and the worsening infection statistics indicate the danger of a second wave of the epidemic. Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this today on the briefing.

"It is important not to confuse mitigation with the complete abolition of the lockdown, because we have not yet won this war with Covid-19. You see that the statistics are of the last days when the number of diseases is more than 500 people a day," he said.

According to Stepanov, the situation with the deterioration of statistics is observed in other countries. In Germany, in particular, the level of virus transmission in recent days has exceeded critical values, China announced the possibility of a new outbreak, and South Korea announced the start of the second wave of the epidemic.

In connection with the current situation, the minister appealed to Ukrainians not to neglect quarantine restrictions and rules.

As we reported before, health Minister Stepanov explained the reason for the increase in the number of infected Ukrainians. He noted that the authorities chose an adaptive quarantine strategy to gradually exit the coronavirus crisis. However, it is important not to confuse the concept of lockdown mitigation and cancellation.
