German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier called on Russia to ensure the 48-hour cease-fire regime in the Syrian city of Aleppo. DW reports this.
“Russia as an ally of the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad bears a special responsibility for the introduction of the cease-fire state”, the head of the German Foreign Ministry said.
"Now we need to deliver humanitarian aid to the city and to provide people with the necessities", said Steinmeier.
According to him, a long-term cease-fire state throughout the territory of Syria should be "the main objective".
