State Fiscal Service’s Unit Chief detained for bribe in Vinnytsia region

Law enforcement officers detained the State Fiscal Service’s unit chief at a bribe in the amount of 19 thousand USD in Vinnytsia region. Yuriy Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine claimed this at his page on Facebook.

‘Jointly with the SBU, we detained the unit chief of Directorate-General of the State Fiscal Service and his abettor in Vinnytsia region. They have been demanding 19 thousand USD from a businessman,’ Lutsenko claimed.

According to Larysa Sarhan, the Spokesman of Lutsenko the detainees have been demanding money for resolution of the issue to close the criminal proceeding. The individuals received a half of the bribe in the amount of 7 thousand USD.

‘Law enforcement officials seized the illegally received money and collected other evidence confirming illicit activities. The suspects are detained and informed about a suspicion in the commission of a misdemeanor.  It is being decided on their preventive measures,’ Sarhan claimed.

Earlier, the media claimed about the K unit, which was conducting searches of State Fiscal Service’s unit chiefs.

Reportedly, the law enforcement detained the Deputy Chief of Directorate-General of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine and the Chief Public Auditor, the officer of the Directorate-General of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine at a bribe in the amount of 2 thousand USD in Sumy region.
