Investigators of the territorial administration of the State Bureau of Investigation, located in Lviv, reported suspected abuse of power by the two main state inspectors of the West customs post and the state inspector of the customs payments administration department of the Lviv Customs State Fiscal Service (SFS). The press service of the bureau reports.

During the pre-trial investigation, it turned out that officials, in collusion with businessmen, had established a criminal scheme for customs clearance of MAN trucks on the territory of Ukraine through the West customs post with understated customs value.

"The suspects did not check the information contained in the documents confirming the customs value of foreign trucks and ignored the messages of the Inspector automated customs clearance system," - the statement said.

The State Bureau of Investigation notes that due to the actions of customs officers, customs payments were charged at a significantly reduced rate, which is why the state budget did not receive more than $86 thousand.

The case was qualified under Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of official position, that is, intentional, in order to obtain undue benefits for another legal entity, the use by an official of an official position contrary to the interests of the service, which entailed grave consequences for state interests protected by law).
