A Starship prototype (SN9), a spacecraft developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX, exploded during a test flight in Cameron County, Texas. This was reported on the company's website.
During the test flight, the aircraft reached approximately 10 kilometers in altitude and proceeded to landing. However, during the landing maneuver, one of the engines did not relight, which forced the rocket to hit the ground and explode.
John Insprucker, Chief Integration Engineer of SpaceX, stated that the flight had been successful and specialists needed to work on landing.
Starship is expected to be the world’s most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, with the ability to carry in excess of 100 metric tonnes to Earth orbit.
As we reported earlier, Oleh Urusky, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, reported the country's intention to launch its own satellite into Earth orbit by the end of this year.
"The presence of such a spacecraft will not only help solve a wide range of problems, both in the interests of the economy and law enforcement agencies, but it will also save budget money that is being spent today on the purchase of services provided by such spacecraft abroad," reads the message.
