South Korea has successfully tested a submarine-launched ballistic missile. It became the eighth country to possess such weapons. This was reported by Yonhap.

It is noted that the missile was launched last month under the leadership of the South Korean Defense Development Agency.

The launch took place from the new Dosan Ahn Chang-ho submarine, which is equipped with six vertical launch containers. It is believed that this Hyunmoo 4-4 SLBM is a modification of the Hyunmoo-2B missile with a range of about 500 km and that it will be equipped with non-nuclear warheads.

Today such missiles are owned by the United States, Russia, Britain, France, India, China, North Korea, and South Korea.

As reported earlier, Ukraine wants to create its own missile defense system (NMD) and has already begun negotiations with other countries to obtain technologies for its development.
