Solemn march to the Day of Defender of Ukraine began in Mykolayiv

The solemn march to the Day of Defender of Ukraine began in Mykolayiv. More than 100 people take part in the event, reports 112 Ukraine correspondent.

According to him, the atmosphere in the city is positive, the residents are in a good mood.

"There is also an exhibition of fire and military equipment, all people go around, look at everything. But the holiday will not end with this. After the march, already at 13:00, the first city-wide quest will begin. It is organized by anti-terrorist operation participants and IDP for children and youth," the correspondent noted.

Earlier it was reported that 300 events dedicated to the defenders of independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are planned throughout Ukraine.

On the Day of Defender of Ukraine, which is annually celebrated on October 14, law enforcement officers will work in the enhanced mode. This was announced by the head of the National Police Igor Klymenko during an instructive meeting chaired by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Serhiy Yarovyi, the police communications department reports.

All policemen will be clearly instructed on measures to ensure order because the safety of citizens is a priority in our work. This is a holiday for our state, it should be held without provocation,” Klymenko said.

For his part, the head of the Kyiv police Andriy Kryshchenko noted that law enforcement officers received applications for holding five rallies.

“We also provided additional reserves in order to influence the situation if necessary. The center will work around the clock to monitor all events and give a prompt response,” Kryshchenko stated.
