Sofia Sapega, a Russian woman detained in Minsk and accompanying Belarusian blogger Roman Pratasevich, has filed a lawsuit against her detention. DW reported citing her lawyer Alexander Filanovich.

He also noted that another case had been filed against the Russian woman in the Investigative Committee of Belarus. According to the Vesna Human Rights Center, the woman is a suspect under a criminal article on Inciting racial, national, religious or other social hatred. The article provides for up to 12 years in prison.

It is also reported that Sofia Sapega is suspected of organizing mass riots and group actions that grossly violate public order. The girl has not been charged yet.

As it was reported earlier, Sofia Sapega with the founder of the largest opposition telegram channel of Belarus NEXTA, journalist Roman Protasevich, was detained in Minsk. The plane with Roman Protasevich on board flew from Athens to Vilnius. Suddenly, the plane gave a distress signal, changed course and made an emergency landing at the Minsk National Airport. The emergency landing was caused by a mining signal.
