To date, Ukraine is going through an active snow cyclone that caused severe weather conditions and led to emergencies in the southern part of the country. In some areas, the height of snowdrifts reached 1.5 meters, the State Roadway Service (Ukravtodor) reports.
It is reported that the service's Emergency Response Headquarters is constantly working on public roads of state importance in order to promptly respond to emergencies and eliminate their consequences.
Temporary restrictions for the movement of large vehicles on highways of state importance have been introduced in a number of regions.
As we reported earlier, according to Ella Libanova, the director of the Ptoukha Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the current poverty rate in Ukraine exceeds 50%.
"According to the first half of 2020 (this is the latest data from the State Statistics Service on income and consumption that we monitor), the poverty rate amounts to 51%. Even probably higher at this point," the statement said.
