Slovakia imposes emergency state due to Covid-19

The government of Slovakia approved the introduction of the emergency state due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The emergency state will start to act on October 1 as Aktuality reported.

“The government approved the announcement of the emergency state,” the message said.

Thus, PM of Slovakia Igor Matovič stated that the emergency state will be imposed for 45 days. Then, the government will consider its cancelation.

Health Minister Marek Krajčí stated that the emergency state will allow to purchase new tests for coronavirus or protective equipment quicker and the employees of the hospital will be moved to the units where they are most needed.

The issue is about the cases when the infectious beds in the hospitals will be full. Particularly, when it is necessary to provide the beds for patients in other rooms and transfer staff to treat the patients.

According to Worldometers, 10,141 Covid-19 cases registered in Slovakia; 48 lethal cases were observed.

As we reported, the government of the Czech Republic plans to consider the introduction of the emergency state due to the growth of the number of Covid-19 infected.
