From today, March 13, due to the coronavirus, Slovakia has restricted entry into the country and allowed only residents and international freight carriers to enter. The Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy wrote about this on his Facebook page.
He noted that it was decided to cancel the regular international transport links. In particular, the international bus service and train runs were discontinued.
At the same time, international freight traffic does not stop, and drivers of vehicles must be provided with protective equipment. It is also reported that only those persons who have a permit for permanent or temporary residence in the country will be allowed into Slovakia, and exit from Slovakia is allowed without any restrictions.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway company noted that the sale of tickets for trains to Slovakia was suspended, and refunds for previously purchased travel documents are made at all ticket offices in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The Ukrainian minister also said that Romania will introduce additional security measures. At the time of entry into Romania, persons from risk zones are sent to representatives of the Ministry of Health of this country for verification activities in the quarantine zone for seven days. In case of a refusal, the person is not allowed in and returned. Ukraine has not yet been included in the risk zone.
As for the drivers of vehicles, they will be checked by the sanitary authority on the Romanian border, it will also be necessary to fill out a questionnaire with personal data, and if no problems are identified, drivers will be able to continue driving.
As we reported before, during the next 48 hours, Ukraine will close its border for foreigners for two weeks. Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will warn all the institutions and all countries that the border of Ukraine will be closed for two weeks.
