The number of newly infected and the number of hospitalization cases have reduced, minister Maksym Stepanov says

The situation with the spread of coronavirus disease in Ukraine has stabilized. The number of newly infected people decreased, just like the number of hospitalizations. Maksym Stepanov, the Healthcare Minister of Ukraine reported that at a briefing.

"If we compare the recent weekly statistics, we'll see the decreasing number of the sick, and the reducing number of people admitted at hospitals", Stepanov said.

The official marked that the number of conducted tests reduced because the incidence rate has dropped.

"Currently, we run tests with people who have symptoms of coronavirus disease or end up at the hospital with pneumonia. I mean the PCR testing. So, when the number of appeals of people with symptoms of a respiratory disease drops, so does the number of tests", Stepanov said.

The Minister also added that the number of people hospitalized with Covid-19 symptoms decreased; considering week-by-week statistics, this figure dropped by 1,500 (from 11,606 cases over the last week of November to 10,100 cases last week).
