Situation in Belarus: Protester dies, students detained, famous model arrested for 27 days

Raman Bandarenka, the Belarusian protester detained and beaten by law enforcers died in Minsk. The law enforcers detained some students. Miss Belarus-2008 Olga Khizhenkova is arrested for almost a month, while journalist Oleg Gruzdilovich is arrested for 15 days, as reported.

It is reported that the deceased protester was 31-year-old. He was hospitalized at the emergency hospital. The medics did not succeed to save his life.

Raman Bandarenka was detained at Square of Change on November 11. According to Belsat, the man was taken to the hospital with a closed craniocerebral injury, acute subdural head hematomas, brain hemorrhage. Roman slipped into a coma.

After the news about the death of Bandarenka, thousands of Minsk citizens started to bring flowers and icon lamps to the Square of Change. The memorials in honor of the deceased man were created in many cities of Belarus, as well as the Belarusian embassies in Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine.

The law enforcers hindered to hold March of people with disabilities, which start was planned at the Red Church. The entrances to the square were blocked.

Moreover, the activists of the Belarusian Student Association (BSA) were detained.

Meanwhile, women with white and red umbrellas succeeded to march from Romonovskaya Sloboda to Yakub Kolas Square.

Meanwhile, model and Miss Belarus-2008 Olga Khizhenkova received another 15 days of arrest. Thus, the woman will spend 27 days in jail.

On November 8, the March of Democracy took place in Minsk and other Belarusian cities. Over 900 people were detained.

As we reported, the European Union officially imposed sanctions against Alexander Lukashenko and dozens of Belarusian officials for violent repression, including arbitrary arrests and ill-treatment of peaceful protesters.
