Short film Anna entered the shortlist of the most prestigious British film award BAFTA on December 10. The movie is presented in the nomination for Best British Short Film. This was reported by Gloss.ua.
The British Academy Film and Television Arts announced the shortlisted films in the British Short Film and the British Short Animation categories.
"The short film categories are open to films which have significant creative involvement by individuals who are British. Films may be fiction or non-fiction," the message says.
Short movie Anna was created by Israeli director Dekel Berenson in collaboration with cinema production in Ukraine and the UK.
The film tells the story of a single middle-aged mother who lives in war-torn eastern Ukraine, raises a daughter and desperately seeks change. On the radio, she heard about a party being arranged for Americans traveling in search of love. So she decided to try to fall in love and be happy again.
Ukrainian theater and film actress Svitlana Barandych played the main role.
The film also received an award of the British Independent Film Awards BIFA - 2019 in the nomination for Best British Short Film. A BAFTA Award ceremony will take place on February 2, 2020.
As it was reported earlier, Ukrainian animated film Deep Love received an award at Feinaki Beijing Animation Week.
