According to CNN, the shooting killed at least 6 people and injured more than 30. Troops and armored vehicles were introduced into the Lebanese capital to restore order.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko said that there were no Ukrainians among the dead and wounded as a result of the shooting in Beirut.

"We are monitoring the situation in Beirut. There are no citizens of Ukraine among victims yet," Nikolenko wrote on Twitter.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that the Ukrainian embassy had opened a 24-hour hotline to provide assistance to Ukrainians.

As it was reported earlier, a powerful explosion shook Lebanese capital city Beirut on August 4, 2020. There were perished and wounded people. The number of victims reached 6,000, of which 220 people have died.

According to the authorities, the explosion occurred due to the fire of 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate.

As a result of the explosion, several Ukrainians were injured, as Ukrainian ambassador stated on August 5. It has later become known that a Ukrainian citizen has died in the explosion.
