The shooting of the full-length debut movie MadMen of Denys Tarasov has finished.
The State Film Agency reported that the events of the movie take place in 1977 in Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The basis for the script is the memory of Soviet dissidents who faced a cruel totalitarian system that used so-called “punitive psychiatry” as the weapon against freethinking,
The shooting took place at Pavlov Hospital, in the territory of which, artistic director Ivan Tishchenko re-created the floor and yard of the hospital in accordance with the time of the events of the movie.
Many historic locations in Kyiv were involved to create the atmosphere of the 70s. besides, the movie was shot at Berezan prison.
The roles are played by Koztyantyn Tymliak, Irma Vitovska, Serhiy Kalantai, Ostap Stupka, Vitaliy Saliy, Anastasiia Pustovit and others.
The premiere of the MadMen will take place at the end of 2022.
