The wreck of a cargo ship off the coast of Turkey, which killed 4 Ukrainians, happened due to a wave hit. About this said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular service department head Vasyl Kyrylych to 112 Ukraine.

"A cargo ship under the flag of Panama wrecked in the territorial waters of Turkey. As a result of a wave hit, the ship broke and began to sink. The command gave the coast guard the signal of distress," said Kyrylych.

"The ship under the flag of Panama, departing from the Russian port of Azov, sent a distress signal about 148 km (92 miles) from the northeastern Black Sea province of Samsun. There were 13 crew members onboard the cargo ship, including nine Ukrainian citizens, two citizens of Azerbaijan and two Russians," said in a statement.
