The current share of the IT industry in the economy of Ukraine makes four percent of the country's GDP. Stepan Kubiv, the First Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Trade and Economic Development of Ukraine said that during the session of the Cabinet.
'Today, the IT sector makes 4 percent of the GDP; it's 150,000 highly-paid employees that shape the middle class. In another year and a half, there will be 200,000 of them,' the official said.
Kubiv also marked that the government intends to support investments and innovations in the development of this particular area, as well as agriculture, aircraft engineering, tourism, infrastructure, etc.
'Together with the National Bank, we need to shape the best conditions for financial projects that create new highly-paid jobs', Kubiv said.
In late 2018, the Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine decided to create the Fund of Innovations Development.
