The town is covered in smoke, as the fire began yet on Sunday.
According to local residents, bulrush is still burning. Some fire seats are hard to get to, and firemen find it difficult to put away the flames.
It is a typical situation that fires take place in this area annually. A lot of animals - hedgehogs, hares, lizzards and pheasants are dying in this one, people say. Most regularly, it is due to arsons.
Earlier, we reported that peril of rare birds was observed in the Askania-Nova national park (Kherson region, southern Ukraine). The National Police workers found 12 dead birds in the area, including nine gray cranes and three red roody shelducks. According to the police press office, the birds could have eaten plant seeds, which the farmers poisoned to get rid of the rodents. Currently, Kharkiv-based forensics are looking into the actual causes of death of these birds.
As of March 22, law enforcers have been investigating three cases about the peril of rare birds from the Red Book of Ukraine; all these facts were observed in Askania-Nova.
