This week, Serbia starts the first stage of the vaccination of the population against Covid-19. It is planned to vaccinate 720,000 citizens as Health Minister Mirsad Djerlek as Informer reported.
“We plan to vaccinate about 11,000 people until the end of the week, while the half of the vaccines will be passed to the medical employees and the half to the gerontological centers and facilities of social protection,” Djerlek said.
Besides, during the first wave of the immunization, people over the age of 75, citizens at the age of 64 up to 74, suffering from secondary illnesses will be vaccinated.
This week, the vaccination will take place every day, excluding Christmas.
On January 4, Serbia had to receive 19,500 doses of vaccine produced by Pfizer/BioNTech.
Besides, 2,400 doses of Sputnik V will be used.
As we reported, the United Kingdom starts a mass vaccination of the population from the coronavirus by AstraZeneca vaccine. First, two hospitals in London, a hospital in the south and a hospital in the north of England, a hospital in the Midlands, and one Oxford hospital will receive the vaccine.
