Ukraine's Sentsov became honorary citizen of Paris

He noted that he would continue to fight for the release of political prisoners

Former political prisoner, Ukrainian director Oleh Sentsov received documents of an honorary citizen of Paris. The European Parliament’s Twitter page reports.

"All Ukrainian prisoners are not released. I will continue the fight for their release, and I hope that you will support me in this fight," the filmmaker said.

As we reported, the Ukrainian filmmaker and the former political prisoner received the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Speech. The ceremony took place in Strasbourg.

The ceremony took place in the session hall where Sentsov delivered a speech.

In particular, Sentsov warned the European parliamentarians about cooperation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, as the Kremlin continues its aggression against Ukraine.
