A man who set himself on fire near the Office of the President was hospitalized in the severe condition as 112 Ukraine reported citing Head of Department of Surgery of hospital #2.
“In severe. The same as now; nothing has changed especially in his state,” the doctor said.
It is reported that the man sustained burns on his body, limbs and head. It is planned to provide him with treatment for about two months. There is no threat to his life.
On February 26, a man set himself on fire during the protest against consequences of the medical reform; the event took place next to the building of Presidential Office in Kyiv. Other participants in the meeting rushed to put out the fire on his clothes. They rendered first medical aid, and the protester was able to get up.
The man explained that he wanted to draw attention to his problem. He's been trying to complete a legal procedure to get the ownership of the land parcel in Sumy region, northern Ukraine. The government, he said, took no action in this.
Later, Spokesperson of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, Yulia Mendel stated that he was agitated by a man who set himself on fire under the walls of the President's Office.
