Law enforcement officers neutralized and detained an aggressor who threatened to blow up a bank in Kyiv. A broadcast was provided by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

The bomb which was allegedly kept in the terrorist's bag did not explode. The man was apprehended and put in a special vehicle. Explosives experts are working on the spot.

The hostage was not injured.

Prosecutor's office of Kyiv opened a criminal case under Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Act of terrorism").

It is worth noting that the terrorist was given an opportunity to go live on TV. He talked to reporters on camera.

As we reported earlier, Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine Anton Herashchenko stated that the man who had captured the bank in Kyiv and had threatened to commit a terrorist attack could be the citizen of Uzbekistan.

The suspect's name is Sukhrob Rakhmanovich Karimov, he was born in March 1988.

The incident occurred in a branch of JSC Universal Bank which is located in the above-mentioned business center.

A young man went in and said that he had a bomb in his backpack. The bank employees left the building, and the head of the branch stayed inside at his own request.
