‘Second wave’ hospitals of Kyiv region prepare for admission of Covid-19 patients

In the Kyiv region, the hospitals of the second wave prepare for the admission of the patients with the coronavirus infection as Kyiv Regional State Administration reported.

95 beds were redeveloped for the provision of the medical treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Moreover, the hospitals of the first wave are filled by 32.6%. 269 beds out of 825 are occupied. 176 patients diagnosed with Covid-19; while 93 patients expect the results.

It is noted that 95 cases – the record number of infected people – were observed in the region. Totally, 5,210 cases of Covid-19 were reported since the beginning of the pandemic; 440 children. Besides, 727 medical workers were infected.

As of early August 26, the number of those infected with Covid-19 in Ukraine reached 110,085; that is, another 1,670 cases have been confirmed over 24 hours. 2,354 citizens passed away due to complications caused by the disease (+36 over the day); 53,454 recovered from it since the beginning of the epidemic in Ukraine (+584 over the day).
