The World Health Organization stated that scientists may need about five years to take the Covid-19 pandemic under control, as Daily Mail reported.

According to the specialist, it may take up to five years to take control of the spread of the coronavirus. The number of factors may influence the process, including whether the virus matures, the containment measures put in place, and the development of a vaccine.

Besides, the WHO noted that currently, the vaccine is the best solution but many scientists doubt its efficiency and security and doubt its production and fair contribution among the population.

As we reported, German enterprise BioNTech and American company Pfizer have jointly developed an experimental vaccine against coronavirus. There's a chance it could reach the world's markets by the end of the year.

As of the morning of May 14, there are 16,847 laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus in Ukraine. Over the past 24 hours, 17 people have died and 427 have recovered. The Minister noted that it was the first time when the number of people who had fallen ill was less than the number of people who had recovered.
