SBU reveals large-scale violations in aircraft maintenance in airports of Odesa and Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed the mechanism of poor-quality repair work of passenger aircraft of one of the Ukrainian airlines. The maintenance company at the international airports in Odesa and Kyiv is the one to blame. According to the SBU press center, this mechanism could lead to human casualties.

In particular, the SBU operatives have documented a violation of applicable law by employees of an airline and maintenance organization.

“They falsified documentation on the aircraft repair work. Further use of virtually faulty aircraft (...) could lead to emergency situations, including catastrophes with casualties,” the SBU emphasized.

At the moment, the court ruled that the official who was responsible for the maintenance of aircraft was guilty of committing a crime. Airlines have canceled the relevant permits for the implementation of aviation passenger traffic.

As we reported, border checkpoint control was tightened at the Kharkiv airport and at the customs checkpoint Hoptivka due to the spread of the Chinese coronavirus.

According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleksiy Kucher, $4,000 were allocated to test systems for diagnostics, a total of $25,000 were additionally allocated.
