The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has exposed a large-scale system for the sale of "dietary supplements" that supposedly protect people against coronavirus. The SBU's press office reported that.

"Cyber ​​experts of the Security Service of Ukraine have exposed the large-scale sale machanism of uncertified dietary supplements via the Internet and an extensive network of call centers. Vendors focused on the properties of drugs that supposedly enhance the body's defenses against coronavirus," the message said.

It is noted that during searches in office premises, call centers and places of residence of the defendants, law enforcement officers seized documents and instructions confirming the mentioned illegal activities. Also, they found more than 1.1 million US dollars.

Intelligence officers also found that while seling additives and other products. the dealers avoided paying taxes and duties on an especially sum. Their actions caused damage to the state budget in the amount of more than $3 million.

As we reported before, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened the criminal proceedings against six companies, which did not supply protective means for medics after payment or purchased low-quality goods.
