An employee of the Security Service of Ukraine was detained in Kyiv. He demanded USD 3,000 for the employment of another person. The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation reported that.

The Major of Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was detained. He was detained after receiving a bribe of 1,000 dollars.

"The procedural management of the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by the military prosecutor's office of the Kyiv garrison in the Central region of Ukraine. Operational support is carried out by employees of the Main Operational Directorate of the State Security Committee and the Internal Security Department of the Security Service of Ukraine," the statement said.

The detainee will be handed a notice of suspicion. If his guilt is proved, then he faces imprisonment for a term from five to 10 years with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to 3 years, with confiscation of property.
