Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) claimed to have busted a criminal gang that allegedly originates from the Azov movement and the National Corps. The culprits extorted money from businessmen in the Kharkiv region. The SBU press office reported that on August 5.

"In particular, they extorted money from the local entrepreneurs, and when they refused to pay, the wrongdoers threatened to apply physical force. In some cases, members of the gang damaged personal belongings of the entrepreneurs who refused to pay", reads the message.

The amount of monthly income of the gang exceeded USD 37,000 (1 million hryvnias).

According to the SBU and Prosecutor General's Office, operatives conducted 56 searches and found large sums of money, documentation of "taxation" of entrepreneurs, weapons, ammunition, as well as the ID of the National Police employees.

The National Corps denies information about the seizure of illegal arms and ammunition during the detention of this organization's members.
