In 2018, the department of counterintelligence protection of state interests in the information security area of the Security Service of Ukraine blocked access to more than 300 Internet resources that Russia used to wage a hybrid war against Ukraine, and international criminal groups to distribute the destructive information content, the press office of the SBU reported.

It is also reported that preventive measures have been taken against 220 administrators of Internet communities, who distributed destructive content to the audience of more than 10 million Internet users. 

It is reported that the SBU is investigating 83 criminal proceedings against the owners and administrators of anti-Ukrainian communities, who deliberately spread calls to overthrow the constitutional system and state power, urges for mass riots and other illegal actions. This year, in such cases, 23 persons were served with charge papers, and 15 convictions were issued by the court.
