Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) began a pre-trial investigation into the infliction of bodily injury, which resulted in the death of "Poltava terrorist" Roman Skrypnyk during his arrest by the police. The SBI press service reported that.

The case is investigated under Part 3 of Art. 365 and part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official authority by a law enforcement officer and premeditated murder).

According to preliminary information, on August 1, 2020, at about 3 a.m. in the village of Opishnya, Zinkivsky district, law enforcement officers found Skrypnyk, who took hostages, and then fled from justice for a week.

During his detention, the police used service firearms, causing a gunshot wound to the head. In addition, there was an explosion of a combat grenade, which the man was holding.
